Have been here a few times now. I really want to like this place as the owner is really nice, however food is average at best. PHO is okay. Shaken beef is disappointing in taste, portion size, and price.

Just found a new favorite restaurant to add to our regular rotation. Amazing Vietnamese food and creative French fusion as well. The dumplings, calamari, BBQ pork buns, Pho and Banh Mi were all incredible. Finished off the meal with the iced coffee which was a perfect end to a spectacular experience.

Very good! An interesting vibe for a Vietnamese restaurant, but they won me over with their fresh delicious food and drink selection. I had chicken curry and a glass of Pinot noir. The manager is super cool. I came by myself on a quiet, late Monday night and we had a really friendly conversation. I think it would be fun on the weekend, with live music, delicious Vietnamese food, and cheap drinks.

The only reason I didn't do 5 stars is because service is a little slow for dining. We have also done carry out which is nice because they have it ready in about 15 minutes. The food is delicious- I especially enjoyed the pho with steak and the fried dumplings. Will become a regular here.

The service is terrible. They just ignore you, don't even acknowledge you. They need to hire more waitresses.

Great location and drink specials! Open late too to satisfy your late night cravings for pho or banh mi!

One word- amazing! Nicely decorated, extremely friendly service, and the best pho I've had in KC, hands down. Can't wait to go back and try something new next time!

Always great fusion food. Probably my favorite Vietnamese place in KC. Plus they are open late. Definitely the best food you can find after midnight.

I'm sorry to say this. But this place cater to American ppl and the owner friends. Food ain't all that great and it's pricey.

Our steak pho was really great! I enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients. We really didn't get anything that was particularly French at the restaurant. I highly recommend the Pho compared to other Vietnamese places nearby. The atmosphere was down-to-earth and very friendly. Their prices were very reasonable. It was about $9 for pho. And you had enough to take home. I highly recommend it if you're in the area and craving good pho.

IPhoTower is a Vietnamese restaurant near KU med that offers a range of vegetarian options, from pho to vermicelli to banh mi sandwiches. I was in a bit of a rush to get to the airport on Labor Day. The friend taking me to the airport and I stopped in for dinner before I flew out. I ordered the fried tofu and the vegetarian pho. The fried tofu was not good: it was hardly fried, didn't have any kind of coating or seasoning, and came with a dipping sauce that was a bit odd. I think I ate it for the protein, because right now I'm trying to bulk, you know? My physical goal is to get mad gains in the gym, and I need protein to do that. Jokes aside, my friend and I finished the plate. The vegetarian pho had a tasty broth. I really enjoyed the noodles, broccoli, and carrots. The tofu was bad: it was just cubed tofu put in broth, so no change in texture, no seasoning, etc. The restaurant is a bit bizarre. What letters do you capitalize in IPhoTower? Is it iPhotower? iPhoTower? Iphotower? Why is Drops of Jupiter playing... did someone snag my high school Pandora stations? Why is that DJ party light flashing into the corner? Who just dimmed the lights? What is that huge entertainment space in the back of the restaurant?

I was in need of some Pho, as I was sick and wanting broth. I am interning nearby and was excited to try it out. I walked in, and ordered two Pho bowls to-go. They allow you to choose any amount of meats for the same price (I think it was $9). As I was waiting, the staff person brought me some water, which I appreciated. I probably waited about 10 minutes, and was on my way. The Pho was packed very tightly, which was also appreciated, no spillage at all! I arrived home and dug in. The pho broth was delicious and the meat was tender. I will definitely order from here again, and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu!

I'm writing this as a first time diner who only ordered the Banh Mi pork sandwich, but oh my God, it was phenomenal. I will be back ASAP. For $5, I had the best sandwich of my life. I also had spring rolls which were excellent, and the dining experience and service was great. So glad I checked this place out.

Ipho tower....love it..very catchy!! Okay l found this place by accident and I'm glad I did!! I'll start with the spring rolls!!!Wow holy bigness...a whole lot of yumminess!!! Got the dumplings my 2nd visit and was pleasantly happy too!! I went for the traditional Phó and it was up to par also!!! As I sat eating my lunch I watched other items being brought out and can't wait to go back and try the sand which and some of the "French" fusion!! The staff was awesome the atmosphere is darling!!! The only downfall is with this cold, do not sit by the door in the winter I liked to freeze!! Definitely one of my favs!!! Wednesday is buy one get one free Phó with a drink!!! Can't beat that!!!

We stopped in for a quick dinner and happy hour drinks. The Pho was There were four of us, three with the basic pho and one with the seafood pho. They were all amazing and flavorful! I will definitely have to try the seafood on next time. The service was quick and easy. We happened in on a Wednesday, which means buy two happy hour drinks and get a pho buy one get one FREE! Which was what we did. I'd go again!

I visited iPho Tower today with a friend right before taking him up to the airport, so I'll preface my review by saying that this meal was on a tight timeline. When we arrived at the restaurant there was no wait time and we were seated immediately. It's right across the street from the Uptown Theatre, so you can see its gorgeous marquis as you enter. The interior of iPho Tower is a single galley seating area decorated with sky lanterns on the ceiling and sconces decorated with Eiffel Towers on the walls. There's a green glow to the room and a few TVs overhead. Unfortunately, the latter made high pitch buzzing noises that really hurt my ears. The music was soft rock from the early 2000s - think Train, John Mayer, and Sheryl Crow. My friend and I split the fried tofu appetizer to begin. The waiter brought it out quickly. The plate was a bit disappointing. The cubes of tofu were too large, totally un-spiced, and under-fried. The dipping sauce was too bitter for my taste, as well. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend ordering it. For my entree I had the vegetarian vermicelli bowl. Every other time I've ordered this dish at other Vietnamese restaurants, it's been served cold. I've often wondered what the noodles would taste like warm and tonight I found out. I have to say, I think it works better cold. The dish itself is a rice noodle base topped with veggies - in my case tonight, lettuce, mung bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, fried onions, and cilantro - a sweet and sour sauce, fried tofu, and peanuts for some crunch. Despite its temperature, I really loved the dish! The sauce was deliciously tangy and it made me feel warm on the inside on a rainy day. One thing I'd note for the restaurant was that the shape of the bowl (shallow with a wide lip) did not lend itself to the efficient use of chopsticks. The service at the restaurant was less than stellar. Nobody was rude or anything, but towards the end of our meal, more and more people were entering the restaurant and the staff seemed to have trouble keeping up. Totally understandable, but we had quite a bit of difficulty flagging down a server for the check. If I'm ever at the Uptown Theater for a show, I will definitely think about returning to iPho Tower and maybe ordering the pho next time!

iPho Tower is part Vietnamese, a dash of French and a whole heaping of international nightclub vibe. Their quality food and unique menu makes it a win in my book. I'll admit when I first heard about a French/Vietnamese fusion I thought, "Jack of all trades, master of none." Then I saw the positive reviews come rolling in and I changed my ways - I figured everyone must be on to something here. I wish I could say I sat and tried everything and lingered, but my buddy and I were heading to a concert and had to make short work of our meals. I tried the meat combo pho which has meatballs, steak and tripe. I politely asked them to hold the tripe as I've tried that before and it's most-assuredly not for me. They brought it out as part of it anyways and told me to try it, that I might like it. I'm far from a picky eater, I'll eat anything at least once, but like I said, I've been down that tripe road before and it's not one I'll ever take again. The pho was flavorful and packed with veggies and meat. I've had pho before that's mainly broth, and that's definitely not the case here. My friend had a vermicelli veggie dish with a peanut sauce and it looked insanely fresh and good. It's a good concept, despite my initial reaction, and I'm definitely planning to come back to try some more hearty options that they've got on the menu.

iPho Tower makes a great bowl of pho and has some of the best happy hour food at reasonable prices. I'd heard good things about iPho tower from the food critics on KCUR, so I added it to my list of places I wanted to try out and get a bowl of pho. I arrived in advance of Mrs. R and grabbed a table. At 4:00 the place was pretty open and had plenty of tables to get a seat. I gave the happy hour menu a quick once-over and decided that we would start by splitting a banh mi and the grilled pork rolls. Both were great, and had I not had my heart set on getting a bowl of pho, I probably could have stopped there and been very satisfied. The grilled pork rolls were very flavorful and came with a side of a dipping sauce, and the combination of the two was delicious. The pork banh mi was also a very well-put-together sandwich and came on a great chewy baguette. My only regret is that the KCUR food critics had mentioned that it was great with the crawfish sauce, but our waitron told us that they didn't have the sauce on Monday or Tuesday, so I'll have to go back another time to sample it. The pho is a real treat. As I understand the menu, the pho is a single price, but you have your choice of adding steak, brisket, chicken, meatballs, shrimp and/or vegetables into it under that price. I opted for going with only the steak. The steak option is also a little special, as what is added to the pho is apparently raw or very rare steak, sliced razor thin, and then it "cooks" in the boiling hot broth. What you get is a great pho with perfectly-done thin slices of beef. And, as with most pho places, the bowl of pho is gigantic. It's also accompanied with a small plate of accoutrements, including basil, hot peppers, lime wedges, and bean sprouts. When I started in on it, I thought I might have to take some home after filling up on the pork rolls and banh mi, but I also realized that leftover pho is not nearly the same as freshly-prepared pho, so I powered through the entire bowl. I was over full, but very happy, and not regretful that I had eaten so much. I look forward to stopping in at iPho tower when I am in the area again, and though I will probably repeat my mistakes of getting the banh mi, and the pork roll, and pho, and eating too much, I still won't regret it.

I'm mightily impressed with iPho Tower. I had heard rumblings on Yelp about their excellence, but had never taken a trip to find out for myself. I kick myself for not trying it sooner - it's a five minute walk from my office. Yesterday's lunch was brilliant. Steak pho was outstanding. Thinly sliced pieces of steak soaking in a hearty broth flanked by rice noodles, assorted veggies, and cilantro, mint, and sprouts on the side. My co-worker had the chicken rice dish, equally tasty and presented exquisitely. The shrimp rangoons were tasty but not any more spectacular than any other crab/shrimp/veggie rangoon style appetizer. Servers were friendly and food was served with lightning quick efficiency. Both the pho and rice dish were only about $7 each, a deal for this quality and speed in Midtown. You'll easily pay closer to $10 for similarly sized meals and lesser quality at other Asian venues across Midtown. Will definitely be back to sample some other items off the menu. This was a real treat.

For pho... it's hard to beat. Broth is made with roasted bones/marrow. It is rich and delicious without being heavy. Service is always friendly and attentive as well. Check out some of the decor while here... it is pretty swanky.

If I were rating just on the food that I've had here, I'd give it a 5. The service is definitely lacking whenever I've dined here so I've got to take it down a notch. This is definitely a very yummy and great looking place to go to. I like that it's not crazy expensive. I am looking forward to dining in when it's not so cold. Depending on where you sit, the door opening sends a killer breeze your direction. Overall, here's my food ratings: Spring Rolls - 5 - LOVE the peanut sauce. Shrimp vermicelli noodle stir fry - 5 - delish and a huge portion Shrimp rice plate - 5 - if you're a rice person, they give you a great portion with stir fry as well. Fried Shrimp - 5 - I only had one when I dined with my good friend a few weeks ago but I could eat a whole platter. YUM! Check it out... but come at a time when you don't have a huge time crunch! :)

I have heard many good things about iPho Tower, so was very excited to try it. I was not disappointed. The food service and atmosphere were great. We were luck enough to arrive right before 6pm, so were able to take advantage of the great happy hour specials, including $5 bahn mi and discounted spring rolls. Both the pork spring rolls and pork bahn mi were great (both almost enough for a small meal in and of themselves). I then ordered the pho (you have to try the name-sake dish at least once). I opted for steak and meatball, and will try other combos on my nest visit--I love this ability to customize to your own taste. The large, steaming bowl of pho arrived with a condiment plate loaded with bean sprouts, mint, cilantro, jalapeno and onion (even more customization). It was so delicious--the broth was flavorful, the think sliced steak cooked in the broth and the dense, salty meatballs, along with the herbs I added, made the most amazing pho I have ever consumed. It was not super busy on the Tuesday evening, so the service and atmosphere were enjoyable and relaxed (but not slow like some other reviewers have noted). My only disappointment is that the special summer sauce, only available in the Summer, is not available on Monday or Tuesday. Just another reason to stop back in soon.

When everything closes at 10 PM in Kansas City, what do you do? Well, you can hang out a bars that open later or try to get some sushi & rolls @ Nara or you can drive a bit out to iPHO Tower. Why? It's because they are just awesome. I wished I was there on the weekend to eat, drink and sing my heart out with the cool people of iPho Tower. We called around 10:30 PM to see if they were still open and the owner agreed to open beyond 11 PM if we were coming right now. They were closing early since the business was slow during the weekday. We arrived promptly and the restaurant was closed. There was a waitress mopping the floor. I was disappointed until the owner opened the door and said, "come in. we are open for you." Awesome. They have a full bar and we ordered some beer to chase away the bourbon and whiskey that we've been drinking all night. We also ordered spring rolls with shrimp only (it comes with pork also but ask for shrimp only if you are allergic to pork dishes) and 3 orders of spicy seafood PHO! BAM! What a dish. It's somewhere between Tom Yum Goong and Pho. I wish I can describe it exactly but it's really tasty and flavorful. I added bean sprouts and extra Siracha sauce. Definitely one of the best in town.

I was cravings for banh xeo and remembered the last time I had one was when I still lived with my parents. Unfortunately, I'm a lazy and horrible cook, so getting a savory crepes stuffed with shrimp and pork and loaded with herbs means I had to travel to downtown or beg my mom to make it. My quickest solution was getting on my favorite app, YELP. Found me a Vietnamese restaurant that is less than 5 minutes from work, super close to satisfy my cravings without fighting through downtown's madness. My friend had pho. Noodles were perfectly cooked, compared to most restaurant. I don't like my noodles chewy (needless to say, I like my noodles to be cooked). Staff were awesome by accommodating my short lunch hour and taking my order 10 minute prior to arrival. I can't wait to be back!!!

Some friends and I went here last night after hearing that there was going to be a good Latin band playing. We enjoyed a few rounds of drinks (I liked the warm sake), as well as a couple appetizers, sweet potato and shrimp fritters, and egg rolls. The music was really fun and I was excited to hear that the dj played Lindsey Sterling's music, then later the Latin band. The band and dance floor is in the back but music is piped all over for everyone's enjoyment. Criticism: The bathroom was very small, beat up and grungy. It would have been a good investment to eliminate the sewer odors and put good doors on the stalls.

Came to Kansas and was craving Pho while I was traveling through. My girlfriend and I were looking for Pho and realized it was late, luckily on yelp iPho Tower was open. We came through and thought it was a bar at first. Going in you get settled down to order and eat. The atmosphere is kinda like a club but still able to eat there. We ordered some egg rolls and pho then waited for our meal. During the wait they play EDM aka Electronic Dance Music, Untz Untz Untz. I felt like I was at a rave but waiting to eat pho lol. Music is pretty loud and I would recommend coming here if you like EDM. Then the egg rolls come which are absolutely delicious, also for the cheap price you get a lot of egg rolls! Finally the pho comes and we were not disappointed. I had the beef pho while my girlfriend had the seafood one, both were different yet satisfying. Afterwards I talked to our waiter who was also Vietnamese and he was super friendly, being able to help us out and what not. Had a great experience here and would come back the next time I'm in KC. 10/10 Would Rave and eat Pho here again.

The food is fresh, delicious and somewhat unique. The ambiance is nice, music is apropos and staff was polite. There was a minor error with our order, and the manager/owner (?) gave us a fair discount and free appetizer to make up for it. Class act all around. Highly recommend.

I was really excited to try this place, hoping it would finally be a Vietnamese restaurant in town where I would return. Unfortunately, I think it will be a while, if ever. I went with a friend for lunch on Saturday. We ordered spring rolls (minus the meatloaf) to start. They were fine, but nothing remarkable. Then we asked our server what he recommended... the Pho. So that's what I ordered and my friend got the Chicken Bun. Let me just say they both needed a lot of siracha and hoisin. We left full, but pretty disappointed with our experience. My search continues...

Their banh mis are delicious and the best in town that I've tried! I usually get my banh mi from Vietnam Cafe in Columbus but iPho Tower's bread is so soft but also crispy, it's perfect! I got their house special which has a variety of meats in it, mmm. The other banh mis around town can be hard and chewy at times. They had crawfish available on weekends when in season and it's delicious and seasoned well. It's like ~$9 per lb which is a lot more than I'm used to. They also had a special of blue crabs 2 for $3. I did try their pho tai one time and the meat came out completely cooked instead of raw which was a bummer! Unbeknownst to us they were having an event so our server was missing most of the time and we had to flag her down each time we needed something. The check came and then she disappeared for so long that we just asked another server to run it. I ordered a sandwich to-go one day and I used cash to pay. I guess the waitress didn't have any change because instead of taking the price she quoted me she took an additional .50 cents to make it even change. I was in a rush and didn't notice until I had already drove off. Make sure you count your cash when they hand it back to you

This is based only on the lack of knowledge. I would like to put 1 star on that basis, but I realize that these pointless reviews do really impact the business. I have been to this location. I love the food. Since, I like the food so much I would like to drink a nice bottle of wine with it. Their wine list does not have wines that I would drink for their cuisine. Therefore, I brought my own bottle in with me. I was told I couldn't bring my own bottle in. He said if he let me do that, then he would have to let everyone else do that....??!! Yes, YOU WOULD HAVE TO LET EVERYONE ELSE DO IT AND MAKE A COMPLETE PROFIT OFF OF IT. YOU CHARGE A CORKAGE FEE OF YOUR CHOICE AND GET COMPLETE PROFIT FROM THAT. ALSO, YES YOU CAN LET US BRING IT IN, IT IS A STATE LAW. YOU HAVE A LIQUOR LICENSE, SO IT IS LEGAL FOR US TO BRING IT IN.

My only wish was that the serving size of pho was larger. For pho, you can create your own meat combination, for the price of $8.95. I ordered the brisket and meatball pho and was surprisingly underwhelmed with the portion of pho. The broth was a bit too salty for me, but still delicious nonetheless. I did not have difficulty finishing my meal. The wait staff were friendly and were attentive to us. Bathroom is hidden behind a while canvas curtain--I felt like I would discover the Wizard of Oz when opening it to get to the washroom..

I can definitely get behind this place. Good food in a nice environment, with enough quirks to keep me interested. First of all, the food is legit. I really loved their BBQ buns, and their shrimp vermicelli is quite good as well. I wish the fish sauce was a bit...fisher, but that's not a huge deal breaker. And the banh mi was pretty dang good too. What I really like about this place is that at any given time, somebody could break into karaoke. Sure, there's a proper club in the back, and from what I hear it gets pretty wild late into the night. But are you enjoying dinner and suddenly have a hankering to belt out your favorite Backstreet Boys song? Never fear, your server will bring you over a microphone and you can entertain the audience from your seat! Now, I can see how this could get annoying if you were there for a serious conversation (i.e. work meeting, dumping your significant other), but if you're in the mood, it's a hilarious touch. It's refreshing to visit a nicer Vietnamese restaurant that is clean, crisp and modern rather than over-the-top "Look! You're in an Asian Restaurant!" In terms of decor, this place reminds me of some of the more mid-level restaurants we dined at while traveling through Vietnam earlier in the year. I'll definitely be back.

You never really know what to expect when you're trying out a restaurant for the first time. Anymore the best thing you can do is read reviews and hope for the best. I've had authentic Pho in Chicago before and instantly fell in love. So i knew if I was going to have Pho anywhere else it would have some high standards to stand up to. The chicken Pho at iPhotower exceeded my expectations. It was very tasty and the serving was more than enough for myself, though it was so good I ate it all. The atmosphere of the bar is quite charming as well. Quick service and friendly faces make it an experience worth having again and again.

iPho is an extension of the once "Pho Hoa" on Independence ave which has since been rebranded as an iPho Tower. This is a great lunch spot. I've had the vermicelli dish and the Vietnamese spring rolls which are very simple dishes in design but they are great! Everything was crispy and springy, the noodles were cooked well and the peanut sauce is excellent. The rest of the party opted for bowls of Pho which looked great and they approved. I will have to get back to this place to try the fusion dishes because they sound amazing. Tea is cheap and refreshing, you get a big pot to yourself (I think its Ceylon, not sure) The staff is friendly and the gentleman behind the bar (Vaughn) is nice and willing to chat it up, ask him questions and things! He gave me a sample of an iced coffee that was really amazing, I would reccomend you ask for that. And don't forget the fish sauce!

DaMissus and I ate at IPho Tower this past Saturday after the Elders Hoolie at the Uptown. it was our first time and we loved everything. The service, ambiance and the food were all outstanding. Great banh mi sandwich loaded with pickled veg and pork. Our server,Choi, was helpful and courteous. We loved all the different people that were eating, drinking and enjoying themselves. We will be back and soon.

I can see myself really liking this place! Unfortunately our first experience wasn't above par. Three of us hit up iPho Tower on cold Sunday night. The place wasn't packed, but they seemed short staffed. The service wasn't horrible, but it was little thing like: our app came out with no utensils/napkins or one entree was served long before the other two arrived - these kinds of things aren't going to stop me from coming back, but they do play into the decision making process when deciding on a dinner spot. With that being said, the food was delicious. We started with the dumplings and for dinner I had the house special Banh Mi and the others at the table the brisket pho. The Banh Mi was exactly what I was craving. The meat was flavorful, the break perfectly toasted and the veggies crisp and refreshing. Next time I'm adding an egg, decision has been made. The others at the table very much enjoyed their pho. My fiancee is still partial to another Vietnamese restaurant for pho alone, but he could see himself getting down with some of the other options on the menu. We scoped out the pork buns at another table, that's definitely happening next time! All in all, iPho Tower was solid, we'll be back to further explore the menu.

Pho has a special place in my heart. Moving to Kansas City for job, I jumped at the idea that there is a good pho place so close to where I live. This place may be a little pricey compare to the pho that I am used to pay for (chinatown, chicago) but it is still pretty good for the convenience. The fact that this place is opened until 2 AM is already pretty darn awesome (pho after a night out? sounds like the perfect ending). Their pho and banh mi sandwich are really well made. They gave you ample amount of the core ingredients on their plates. Their alcoholic beverages are also tasty. Just the right amount of hint of alcohol with sweet tastes to hide it beyond well. not to mention the owner spike is super chill and sometimes brace you with his very own singing!

My bahn mi combo was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back for the highly recommended variety of phô as well as the shaken beef. The service is spectacular; especially, when you have one of KC's best server working here! I will 100% be back! And FYI, after my horrendous experience at that crap Italian place in Westport, it would be hard not to earn 5 stars! Join the cause and be a patron of restaurants that are friendly, like this one, & NOT ones that treat you like a criminal, i.e. crappy Italian place in Westport:)

We walked into a crowded restaurant, sat the bar, told the server we wanted something quick to prepare. She recommended the pho and then we waited 25 minutes for our food. Just before getting our food, a woman came out from the kitchen and told our server there was enough pho for 6 more bowls. So I was not surprised to get pho with very little flavor; I'd go so far as to say it tasted watered down. Much better pho at other places in town for less money. I'll not be back.

I am totally kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. If I was rating just the food, no question I would give them five stars. Everything we tried had great flavor. The pork spring roll things made my top favorites of Kansas City. I also tried the special banh mi and it also had amazing flavor. A little more insides for the size of the bread would be good. I tried my dining buddy's beef rice dish and it also was loaded with flavor. It appears no matter what you order, your taste buds will break out into a little party in your mouth. The prices are also great. Most of the apps are around $6. The pork spring rolls were just under $6 and enough for a meal. The banh mi also just under $6. The pho and rice dishes are $10ish and up, but still a fantastic deal. The decor is interesting. Asian meets French. The lighting is bright and the whole atmosphere fun. The strobe, rotating light things can go. With a wanky eye, sudden bright flashes are not pleasant. Service was quite lacking. After walking in I wasn't sure if I should seat myself or wait to be seated. After looking at me a few times, I asked the guy at the bar what to do. He said he would find me a table. A few minutes later someone came up and asked how many and headed off to find me a table. A third person came up and asked how many and headed off to clean me a table. Looking at the drink specials I asked what was in them. I am betting the waitress had no clue because everyone was described as a fruity drink with berries and vodka. I have never heard of a vodka mojito and skipped the drinks. Our apps were brought out together, but quickly after my banh mi was brought out. It was quite a bit later before my friend's main course was brought out. After that we did not see our waitress. We had to flag down another person on the waitstaff for to go containers and our check. The check he brought was for the wrong table. Although better service would be nice, the food is so incredible I can deal with it. I can't wait to go back and try the other menu items, although it is going to be hard to order anything besides the pork spring roll things!

Let me tell you..... OMG. I went here for a meeting and I didn't want it to end. All I wanted to do was eat more food and try everything! Plus I have never eaten Vietnamese food so anyone who is scared to try it, DON'T be! It's delicious and make your tummy happy. For starters, I had the grilled pork rolls. YUM! They were so good, I can't even describe it to you but take my word for it! I then had the grilled pork vermicelli. I got to pour the fish sauce all over it and mix everything together. All of the ingredients complimented each other and made my taste buds go wild. It's insanely good. On a side note, this place is adorable. Nice and cozy. They even have paper lanterns all over the ceiling and have a karaoke night! How awesome is that?! If you are in the area, go check it out!

Hands-Down the best Banh mi sandwich for 300 miles. Nobody comes close. The BREAD is absolutely amazing. Perfectly toasted on the outside with the right softness to the inside. I ordered the pork sandwich and asked for fried egg with it. I could eat their Banh Mi everyday! My wife had the Pho and she was impressed although she thought it was not on the level of Vietnam Cafe. Regardless, I'll be back again!

iPho Tower is the current incarnation of what was previously Pho Hoa, but now they have two locations including the old Pho Hoa location on Independence Ave. The Midtown location is an upgrade in terms of neighborhood (and proximity for us) from the Independence Ave restaurant and the atmosphere is a bit different. The ceilings are covered with white, pink and red lanterns and the layout of the restaurant follows the shape of the space with long booth-like benches and chairs on the opposite side of the tables. I love their Eiffel Tower light fixtures which line the walls. The food is fabulous, although the menu seems a bit smaller than the Pho Hoa menu was. They don't currently serve smoothies at this location, but I have fond memories of the avocado smoothie and apparently it is still available at their Independence Ave location. For apps, I love their spring rolls as well as their shrimp and sweet potato fritters. The serving sizes are huge for the price! Their pho is wonderful, but at my most recent visit, I had a vermicelli bowl with pork and it was really flavorful with tender juicy pork. Service is fast and friendly. Our server at our last visit was particularly outgoing and invited us to their new Happy Hour which will be from 3-6 pm and after 10 pm Sundays through Thursdays. We will definitely be checking that out!

They aren't open til 1am! 12:11am and they're closed! :-( Drove here and I'm hungry! Didn't see daily hours posted on the front of the restaurant.

iPho Tower is without a doubt my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in KC. The food is wonderful, and you have to try their báhn mì sandwiches, as they're probably the best I've ever had. That being said, the venue is a little strange. The restaurant is dark and usually pretty cold. Not only that, but the music selection often consists of sad and depressing pop hits. Definitely come here for the food, but be prepared for a rather downbeat atmosphere unless you're here in the evening, when the venue is ironically turned into a dance club, complete with neon lights and DJ'd music.

I had the spring rolls, shaking beef, and tried the crawfish and I would say this place is very tasty. I would say probably the best shaking beef in KC. I only wished they gave a little bigger portion of beef. The crawfish is very good and very well seasoned. I would definitely recommend and I will be coming back. The owner Spike is very nice and even gave is a free dessert shot. To our surprise there was karaoke and we ended up singing the rest of the night.

I had to come try this place because all of the great reviews on Yelp and the raves from my friends on FB....I got crawfish which was amazing. The flavors are so good, it's spicy too :) We also got crispy chicken wings it was fine; nothing real special about it. I didn't love the pho, I like Vietnam Cafe's better, but my husband liked it but it was also his first time having pho. I thought the broth was a little bland and there were less veggies or something I'm not sure. I got the brisket and meat ball pho. Our friend got one of the Ban Mi sandwiches and he said it good. We ordered fresh bread to go as well and they made it there surprisingly. Our service though was really weird. the girl that waited on us was super awkward and then she went MIA.

Background... Spike from Pho Hoa (one of... if not the best Viet in KC) has created this bar/restaurant. Apparently staffing is a little short after dealing with integrity issues. Spike took care of us after a miscue with the service. *Keep in mind they are getting their staffing up to par and keeping with the integrity and class of pho hoa* That being said... This is NOT Pho Hoa... The neon lights and bar up front with a nice selection of a mix of beers on tap. Although its a short list... Its what I would drink. They also have a full bar. This reminds me of Hawaii. Great for shots and classic bar type place. You can sit with your friends and enjoy the night. The food was 5 stars!! Fusion beef stew was seasoned with the french/asian=viet flavors. Fantastic. Small pieces of beef, red potatoes, carrots, cilantro, fried french onions and white rice. It was a joy to taste! The grilled pork spring roll was so good. The grilled pork was tasty and a good mix with the rest of the veggies in the spring roll. The "fish" sauce or dipping sauce was THE BEST! No joke! The perfect blend of heat and acidity! The shrimp rangoons were good. On par with other cream cheese based rangoons. Bahn Mi House Special Sandwich... I think... Grilled pork, fish cake, Chicken with the fried baget and normal cucumber and mayo... Crunchy, Titillating and Satisfying. On the weekends they have MudBugs... Aka Crawfish! They are seasoned very well. If you know anything about asians and mudbugs... They are on par with their southern counterparts. Seasoning is complex and spicey! MMMMMmmmmm!! I didnt even get to try the Pho!!! Will be back. Must be back! I cant wait till all the small (very small) issues get ironed out. *They have a great lounge in back for KARAOKE, dancing on the weekend, or a private party!... Im definitely going to reserve the back end soon!!!*

At the time I wrote my first review of iPho Tower, there was no wine list. There is now, and it is fine. The house wines are a particularly good buy, but unfortunately they do not have a house Merlot or house Pinot Noir. The food remains my favorite Vietnamese food in KC.

I couldn't wait to try IPho after hearing about it. I wanted to try it a few times before giving my review of the place. Each time we have gone we have ordered crawfish. They only serve crawfish on the weekends, $8.99/lb. Surprisingly, each time it tasted a little different. However, it WAS good...just different good. Hopefully it gets consistent. I hate expecting something to taste a certain way and then it doesn't. I do think that this is the best (restaurant) crawfish in KC. This is probably due to the fact that there isn't much competition. Now for the rest of the food. My kids liked the tamarind chicken wings and sweet potatoes and shrimp fritters. The first couple of times we had the fried pork buns, there were so good! Then on our last visit, they weren't good at all. The bun/bread part was so thin and had no flavor. A friend ordered the pho so we all tasted it, but no one cared for it too much. The banh mi is pretty good. Add an egg to make it even better! The rice dishes are decent. I really think that everything here is way overpriced. Maybe it has to do with the location. I don't think any of the dishes are worth their price. Service here is wonderful. Everyone is really friendly. Also, on the weekends they have karaoke!

Favorite Pho place in town. Ever since the renovation I've seen Spike's business evolve from a quaint pho joint to something amazing. This was the first place my friends recommended me to for pho and ever since it is my go to for dinner and late night whenever I'm in the area with my friends. The pho itself is really good and sweeter than most which I really like. It also feels really clean and not too heavy. The meat's good, and they offer lots of combinations Their portions have become smaller than their early days, but the flavor still justifies a good pho fix. Their seafood spicy soup is worth checking out. It looks super spicy, when it really is a nice sour and mild mix with good portions of shrimp and fish. But for sure, their Banh Mi is hands down best out of the rest i've seen. They grill it just how South East Asian cuisine should, their pickled veggies are just the right amount of savory and sour, and the bread is handmade and toasted. The bonus is they always come out pretty quickly Their spring rolls are pretty good, and pretty packed too. Their sauce is a gold standard they make. The bar is not bad either. The best is if you have a few drinks at the table already, sometimes the workers there on a weekend are feeling pretty good themselves and offer a free mixed shot of their own creation. Really adds to the philosophy that they really LOVE what their doing and love serving their food to their family of customers. Again, my favorite pho place

A very cute restaurant with up beat music. The decoration is like a French bar in Paris with an atmosphere of a dance club. The waitress allow me to taste a sample of Pho broth. A little sweet with a flavorful saltiness. It have a smell of pho from outside but I don't smell the hint of cinnamon.. If you like sweet coffee, it is serve is a cool tall glass. But after talking to the owner, you can ask for more coffee to dilute the sweet. The banh xeo, crepe is cruchy and pretty good with beef rather than pork.. It was a difference taste. I will order it again

I love how this place is open until 2am on most nights, so it's a good spot if you're out and about and have a sudden craving for noodles. We ordered the shrimp and sweet potato tempura and also shrimp vermicelli; both were average. Tempura dish was a very generous portion and also lightly fried, so it didn't taste very oily. The dip that comes with is a fish sauce that -- in my opinion -- can't really stand up to the tempura. Shrimp vermicelli was also a pretty large portion (I think huge plates are a common theme with this restaurant) and came with some kind of stir-fried cabbage, carrots, and other mixed vegetables, as well as the traditional Viet veggies & herbs (cucumbers, mint, basil, etc.), but the stir fried component made the dish a little heavy. Overall, just not my favorite. I want to like this place so bad, but it was just alright... I considered giving this place 2 stars, but will round up to 3 since they're new and I want to give them the benefit of a doubt.

Have you ever wanted to eat Vietnamese food on the set of Blade Runner? This is your spot. The interior decor is something else. I can't begin to describe it other than to say it's surreal, colorful, and casual. Good food here. I was nervous at first knowing that Pho Hoa was closing to become and iPho Tower because iPho didn't initially have tripe and tendons, my two favorite pho ingredients, but they've incorporated them into the menu in the time since as a "build your own pho" option which is great. The spring rolls with grilled pork inside are something else, as is the spicy/sweet fish sauce they serve with them. Service on my first visit was iffy, we were missing silver, napkins, and sauces which took a while to get these things arranged, but this could be opening-week jitters. In the time since, I've gotten late-night carry out twice. Both times the host/bartender who took my order and brought me food offered me a soda while I waited and gave the cursory and welcome advice of reheating my pho broth once I got home. I've not experienced karaoke night here yet but I certainly want to. Nor have I experienced the crawfish feasts which seem to be a regular special, but it's certainly on my list of to-dos in midtown eatin'. I'll update my review after a few more dine-in visits, but for the time being, the quality and late-night vibe and availability of this place mere blocks from my house are a welcome addition to midtown and to a neighborhood and building that have been struggling in past years.

Meh. Went on Christmas day. Even though we had a reservation, the owner said "We're going to be closing soon". Great way to start. Every table was covered with dirty dishes. Two people working, the owner and one other person. We were seated, orders taken, given water but no other drinks offered. Double meh. Got the pork spring rolls which were more like sandwich wraps. They were fine. Got the steak pho. It was alright. I was on edge the entire meal, since everything felt rushed. Probably will try it some other time, but I really don't trust them to be open when they're supposed to be. After we left, the doors were quickly locked, and several people were turned away in those short few minutes. There are better options out there, folks.

We ordered fried pork buns, grilled pork rolls, and pho. Everything was delicious!!! The fried pork buns are now my favorite food ever!!! Moreover, the staff is super nice. I always appreciate great customer service and they delivered. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant to talk to. I recommend this place for extremely good Vietnamese food. I'm frequently in Little Saigon in Orange County, California and this place would knock the socks off of many restaurants there! Great job iPho Tower! Btw, clever name!!

Very cool place! Fun vibe, reasonable, decent food. Not sure where the French part comes in. If you're looking for an ethnic eatery with a hip lounge-y vibe (great alt music in the background) this should work for you. If you're looking for more authentic Vietnamese and ambience isn't an issue you're probably better off at City Market, but for a more upscale experience, date night or out with friends, def give them a try!

So I wanted to write an update about how things are going at iPho Tower: This is an excellent restaurant, and I wish Spike and his team nothing but success. The food has consistently been excellent. The Banh Mi is certainly my go-to dish. I'd say it's the best Banh Mi in the Midwest, and certainly gives the established Banh Mi places I'm used to in LA and San Diego a run for their money. Putting the crawfish maranade on top is palate-exploding, so I will henceforth refer to it as "crack sauce". It's spicy, garlicky, and buttery, and a perfect topping for anything with a French baguette! The service has also been very good here. Spike, the owner, personally visits every table to make sure that his customers are enjoying their meal. For n00bs to Vietnamese food, he'll sit down next to you and give recommendations. That's a touch that is seldom seen anymore in American dining. I'd recommend the crawfish on the weekends, their beef stew, and the best Banh Mi you can get for miles around. Bring your receipt back for your next visit to get 5% off your next tab! I can't wait to come back for karaoke...although to warn ya'll, I'm pretty bad! (like building-clearing-bad...) So, here's the score: Service:5/5 Food: 5/5. Overall: 5/5. This place rocks! I'm a fan...and hopefully the Duke soon! :)

I had the pho with meatballs and brisket and it was amazing, but... My boyfriend and I went on Valentine's Day and the decorations were adorable, but kind of over done. The colorful lights were broken so they kept flashing and anyone with epilepsy... well, they wouldn't have such a good time. The waitress was young, probably high school aged, and provided the worst customer service. She laughed at my boyfriend's question about the pho (no matter how dumb, you don't laugh at the customer), we complained about a high pitch noise and she questioned if we were hungover because she couldn't hear it (the lady next to us said she could hear it too), and pretty much throughout our dinner she was unprofessional. The food was great, but the layout of the place (noisy bar right next to the quiet dining area) and terrible waitress makes me want to try a different pho restaurant.

Came for a mid-day pho craving. The decor, I'm sorry, I hate. To be fair, the BF didn't, but the neon green bar is too much for me. We did appreciate that the game was on though. The pho was perfectly good. Flavorful, hot, good portion size and quick. I love that you can add whatever number of "toppings" you want (as in brisket, tripe, meatballs, etc) to customize your own bowl. Also enjoyed the full bar and good selection of beers.

Ah I waited so long in anticipation for iPhotower! My boyfriend pretty much loves a bowl of pho more than his girlfriend (i.e. me) so we were both excited for our first visit here. He ordered the steak pho while I nabbed a bowl of grilled pork vermicelli. Both were just okay, nothing special, more so bland. In fact it made us miss Vietnam Cafe. However I did love the shrimp rangoons! They were stellar. We will be back rest assured as I do think this may become one if our usual spots due to the fact they serve food late night. Can't wait to try the crawfish weekend!

This is the worst case scenario - a Vietnamese restaurant one block from my house. iPhotower has already become our default when Husband or I don't feel like cooking. We've had takeout probably five or six times since the place opened and I don't even know where to begin... EXCELLENT pho (no surprise there, since it's Spike from Pho Hoa). The thing we were most excited about was the Banh Mi... and iPhotower has many options on that front. We're defaulting to the House Special; no reason to mess with perfection - which it is. A massive, generous, delicious monstrosity. Their sweet potato/shrimp fritters are the usual Vietnamese specialty - basically a monster pile of sweet potato fries with plenty of delicious shrimp scattered throughout. But there's an item on the menu that's going to be the death of me - barbecue pork buns, sort of a variation on cha siu bao... but somehow sweeter? And with a more crisp outer shell before getting to the soft, steamed bun part and the delicious barbecue pork center? I can't even, you guys. Anyway, one time when we stopped in for our takeout, Spike gave us a bit of beer and spiced peanuts while we were waiting, and ended up showing us around the kitchen. He was so generous and welcoming, and we were just delighted that he recognized us from our few times in. Just amazingly generous and friendly, a great vibe, REALLY wonderful food at reasonable prices. And Spike knows how to make regular customers feel at home. iPhotower will bankrupt us within six months, and I am 100% fine with that.

Nice to see a great beer selection at a Vietnamese bistro that also serves awesome shaken beef (so tender)! Thankful to see Abita Purple Haze and Dechutes! Also tried the local Boulevard drafts and it was surprisingly good. Not generally a big fan of tequila or margaritas but very appreciative that they have Patron for a no morning after hangover. Surprisingly strong pour. Nice relaxing atmosphere and great attentive service. Will definitely come back next time in town.

Holy Late Night Pho!!!!! iPho will now be my go-to Phostablishment in the KC area. The broth has a lot of marrowy goodness and the right amount of spice. The broth to noodle ratio is excellent and the toppings are fresh. I am very glad they've opened up, and that they're open so late!!

We decided to stop in iPho Tower on a Friday night after hearing great things about this new Vietnamese restaurant located across from the Uptown Theater. My girlfriend and I are both vegetarians, and while we'd both had pho in the past, we really hadn't travelled to some of the city's better known spots to seek it out because of the general consensus that the meat-based versions were quite a bit better, and quite frankly I didn't want to be tempted by the amazing-sounded banh mi sandwich, which is typically made with pork or beef. Well, at iPho Tower, that problem is solved. This storefront has largely been unsuccessful over the past several years, but as soon as we walked in it was clear significant changes had been made to the internal space. Gone were the overly ornate walls and gold decor of Cafe Tandoor, long gone were the greasy tabletops and diner kitsch of Sidneys/Chubbys. I'm not even sure the last tenant, Clark's Caribbean, ever officially opened in the space, but whatever their presence had been in the spot just before iPho Tower took over is irrelevant. This little corner of Midtown now belongs to this outstanding Vietnamese/French fusion restaurant. The long bar and tables opposite were filled with a mixture of Asians (a good sign) and caucasians, bustling staff, and neon green and blue lighting. As mentioned in other reviews, the immediate impression was of a place in a much larger, much more culturally diverse city. However, very quickly, the attentive, friendly staff reminded us this is Kansas City, and that it takes spots like this opening up for our dear hometown to move up in the ranks of more-acknowledged cultural centers. We took a table in the open back room, which had very comfortable seating arranged along the walls, with an open dancefloor space in the middle and a small dj booth/stage against the back wall. Portishead began playing on the muzak, and Monica, our waitress, quickly came by and explained the various items and concepts to us. I immediately fixated on the fried tofu version of the banh mi, while my girlfriend ordered an amazingly strong Saigon Sangria to go along with her tofu pho. Monica and a couple of other staffers made sure our drinks stayed full while we sat and chatted, admiring the neon, the laidback vibe, and general layout of the place. Very quickly, our meals were brought out and, quite frankly, everything else in the place faded to the background. The tofu on the banh mi were nice thick chunks, crisped and seasoned, and the dressing was a perfect blend of rich, subtle spicy creaminess. The cilantro, jalapeno slices, and other garnishes pulled everything together on the traditional french baguette - honestly, I wasn't sure the sandwich would be enough when I ordered it, but I was pleasantly stuffed before I got to the last bite. The real star of the show, though, was the pho. The broth, noodles, and simmered ingredients were brought out in a large white bowl, with bean sprouts, tofu, jalapeno, lemon slices, snap peas and fragrants (thai basil and cilantro maybe?) were brought on a side plate for absolute freshness. I was rounding down the tail end of my banh mi while her broth was coming to a palatable temperature, and one thought kept going through my head: I need to order my own bowl!! Thankfully, I"m learning to listen to my stomach a little more than my mind/eyes these days, and I had to realize I was indeed filling up, so I reached a compromise with myself - an order to go for a late night snack for us! The to-go pho order was brought out in the same manner - broth packed in a separate container, and the remainder of the other ingredients - including noodles - in a separate styrofoam container for assembly at home. Again, this lead to a very fresh, very amazing meal for the rainy evening the next night. Everything was incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced - as we were walking out into the evening, we were calculating the costs to just pick up an order of pho every day the following week for us to split for dinner and lunch the next day, and quite frankly it was cheaper than what we already spend on groceries. We've already made plans to bring a large group back with us, and both of us have sent the word out to our vegetarian and meat friends alike to check this place out. This is a very welcome addition to Midtown, and we are already looking forward to a few more of those very strong drinks fueling excursions out the late night dancefloor - this place is open until 2am!

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday night with my mom and brother because I had heard good things about it. The service was..... Strange to say the least. Waitress was nice but not engaging. It was our first time at a Vietnamese restaurant and when we told her, she was really not any help with the menu. Also, the dinner plates were brought out as they were made, not all together, so my food came out 10 min earlier than the last plate (my brothers) and by the time everyone had their plates, my food was cold and lacked flavor as the only sauce provided for the pork with rice is a fish oil. The food was overall just ok. I thought the curry (moms order) lacked spice. My brother ordered the beef off the fusion menu which was fantastic! The flavor was great, very unique. If I had to go back, I would order that. This dish was the difference between two stars and three for ipho tower.

Food: Okay, maybe I was a little buzzed when I came here for my 2nd time (And honestly, I don't even remember my experience my 1st time... goes to show how often I come here when I'm sober...) but the whole experience was pretty bitchin'. Ordered the pho thrown in with bits of tenderloin and good ol' tripe and brisket and this shit was hot-fire. I don't know about you but I throw in ALL the fixings when I eat pho, I go all-in even if the broth ain't good. So I throw in all the bean sprouts the bowl can possibly handle -- effectively raising the broth level by a few inches -- AND the jalapeno peppers. Now this may have oversaturated the flavor a bit, changing my sprouts-to-meat ratio a little, but I'm perfectly fine with this extra texture so just be warned. Anyways, the broth was as well as you would expect it and given the amount of pho places in Kansas City it does well on its own. Overall i was impressed by the size and generous portions. Service: Our waiter was particularly nice (honestly might've been that asian hook-up) and gave me and my party a dollar discount on the beer special that night. In my book that was good enough to earn him the 5th star but I'm also a sucker for hand-outs. The complimentary water and discounted booze was a flowing and all was good. Space/Atmosphere: This place doubles as a club/bar after-hours and the whole decor is appropriately themed to reflect that. i was impressed to see that this place was popping after 11 pm and the excellent lighting made for a swanky feel -- making my overall experience that much better. Conclusion: iPho Tower is a modern upgrade to Pho Hoa as it's pretty apparent the business owner is trying to capture the bar scene demographic -- especially given the proximity to Uptown Theater. In all honesty I like Pho Hoa better due to the fact that if I'm going to a restaurant for pho -- I'm going to that restaurant for pho. But I guess if I'm looking for a place looking to be both a bar and a decent restaurant serving Pho, iPho Tower fits the bill.

First visit. Had the spring rolls and beef pho. Very good. Peanut sauce is wonderful. Spring rolls are generously sized and reasonably priced. Same with pho - took almost half home for a second meal. On a pho adventure. Will be anxious to pick my favorite among our local Vietnamese restaurants. Curious about the French fusion aspect of iPho Tower. Will be back to explore that component.

iPho Tower is the new Vietnamese-French fusion restaurant on 36th & Broadway. iPho Tower is colorful (look up) and rather comfortable inside. There are touches of both Asian and European decor. On to the food. We ordered Shrimp Spring Rolls & Shrimp Rangoon as appetizers. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty; and the Rangoon were some of the best I've had in Kansas City - crab not necessary or missed. My partner and I both ordered Pho as the main course. One steak, one brisket. For my mood, it was just what the doctor ordered. The pho was good. The essence of fennel in the pho was interesting and not troublesome as sometimes fennel is. But this pho is not the best in town. Probably not even second best. It's not as deep or flavorful as say Vietnam Cafe's. Overall, though, acceptable. The service at iPho Tower started out attentive enough, but that dwindled throughout our stay. I am very interested in the fusion dishes on the menu - that will have to be another time. Anyway, have a go at iPho Tower. Poke around the menu and find something unique and try it. I should have. If you're a pho-enthusiast, well, you might be a little let down.

I would only get takeout (like the last 2 times I was here), as when I went early on Sunday the quality was not the same, plus they were missing at least 3 things on the menu and there were those gnats flying around my food.

  • Kilani G.

Decent experience overall. We started out with the sweet potatoes and shrimp fritters which lacked shrimp but were edible and held us over till the main course. It didn't take long for the food to come even though some reviews said it did. The pho was flavorful and the steak I had inside was cooked well. The thing about the service is that I came in and already knew that they were more laid back with their customers. No one greeted us at the door and when we sat down we had to ask for a menu. It seems like a lot of their customers are friends and family so that could be the reason. Don't be afraid to speak up when you need something.

Great pho! Great prices! Great service! The pho was very flavorful!!! Some of THE best I've ever had. Good size large bowl. Only minor thing, I would have liked more noodles but I'm sure the staff could/would do it if asked next time. For two people- I had brisket pho, water, and a coke. My bf had chicken rice platter with fried egg, and water, cost was $20+change. Verack was our server. Friendly, social man who made sure everything on our orders were to our liking down to the garnish! I had been searching for a good pho place since I moved out here in Feb (after a bad experience at Vietnam Cafe), and I found my place!! PLUS, they are open into the early hours of the mornings some days and have karaoke! :-D

Went with my girlfriend, her idea since she's Vietnamese, lol, for lunch. We both got the Vermicelli bowl. Both of us were unimpressed. Food was bland. I had asked for an egg roll. Probably the poorest excuse of an egg roll I've ever had. Only thing nice about the place, was looking at the decor.

Went in there Friday night and let me tell you they are packed. I didn't know they take reservations. Next time, I'll definitely make one. Start out with Saigon sling which is one of their house signature drinks. I like it a lot, It has nice enough of vodka to get me happy. Then I ordered the pork roll which is like the spring roll but pork instead of shrimp with a crunch. Yum! It was a good portion but I wanted to try their pho because I heard it's the most popular item on the menu. I got "combo" which included ( steak, brisket, meatball, tendon, tripe) everything was fresh and the flavor was so tasty I didn't use any of the extra hoisin which they show me. Overall food was excellent service is spectacular and environment is nice and clean. Thanks ipho for making my first experience here a great one. Pho is cooked right in front of you, with that kind of cleanliness and open for you to see, it's a must to return.

What a great place, Vong is awesome. Happy hour is great, from 3 to 6, $3 beer, $4 banh mi and more. Had a pork banh mi, perfect. Locally made French bread-yum! Had to have pho, perfect too! Will be back often, so happy and full.

Everything about this establishment is superb. Amazing food, great service, and awesome atmosphere. Highly recommend the spring rolls and sweet potato/shrimp fries. The pho is the best in town. I love the decor. There's a thousand lanterns on the ceiling, the kitchen is open, and there's a karaoke lounge in the back. I'm so happy they are here! Keep up the good work.

I got takeout from this location. The service want friendly and prompt. I liked "hip" downtown atmosphere. My order included spring rolls, very fresh and the portion size was large, and one of the French/Vietnamese fusion dishes, a spicy beef stew. The beef was like a curry, heavy on onions and well spiced, but not hot. I'll try this place again, next time for pho.

I love this place! Delicious food, great service, low prices, unique decor. What more could you ask for? They have the BEST iced coffee I've ever tasted and the banh mi sandwhich is fantastic. Will definitely be visiting regularly.

We were anxious to like this place but not so much. We went on a Friday night, sharing the fried shrimp rolls app and each ordering the vermicelli. Flavors were bland, not the rich layers you find in other KC Vietnamese restaurants. The dipping sauces were so-so. Thank goodness for sriracha! The meats in the noodles were grilled but tasted like they hadn't been seasoned. Service was fine until the waiter handed us our bill before we were finished eating. No offer of another drink or dessert. We'll probably stick to our favorite Viet places from now on.

Good food and environment. Tried the pho and sandwiches - both excellent. The staff is friendly. Full bar up front and they have a backroom where you can apparently do karaoke after 9ish? if you want. Didnt try it but seems like it would be fun

My love affair with Pho began five years ago while traveling in Vietnam. Since returning from that trip I've never passed up a phopportunity. For my friends and I Pho is its own food group! We've tried out most of the pho in the KC area. Pho Hoa on Independence Ave has always ranked number one for me. Not only does Pho Hoa serve up an incredble bowl of pho, the atmosphere is very inviting, and what stuck with me most was how friendly the owners were. Imagine my surprise when I looked up from the menu at iPhotower to see Spike from Pho Hoa!! Like at Pho Hoa, Spike was walking around and talking with guests. Spike took the time to take us on a tour of the restaurant and spoke with us about how the pho broth is made, and the renovations currently underway at Pho Hoa. The ambiance iPhotower offers is fantastic! Great music and lighting...perfect for relaxing and talking with friends over great food. They offer a nice drink selection and a great variety of foods, all at great prices. iPhotower has a lounge area in the back that is used for entertainment, karaoke, and dancing. What's going to make iPhotower one of the best spots to eat and enjoy time with friends is their hours. This is the only place I've come across in the area to offer pho til 2am. The Pho was INCREDIBLE!!! Of course though, it's Spike! The perfect amount of noodles and meat, incredibly flavored & perfectly seasoned broth...The basil, cilantro, sprouts, and jalapeno peppers were noticibly fresher than other places we've tried in the KC area. I'm a gal that likes a ton of fresh basil and cilantro in my pho so I appreciate how generous iPhotower is with their fresh herbs (Pho Hoa is too!) without charging you extra like some other local places do. Two of my friends also ordered the grilled beef banh mi sandwich and loved it. Spike puts Vietnam Café, Saigon 39, Pho Good and all others to shame, from offering a more flavorful pho to the ambiance and attentive friendly service. We'll be back at iPhotower for another bowl of delicious pho soon and we're excited to see the newly renovated Pho Hoa in a few weeks! Get our tshirts ready Spike, we're coming back for the pho challenge!!

Came for the first time with the family. On Fathers Day 6/15/14. Pro: Food tasted great. Ordered Pho with brisket and meatball, grilled chicken rice dish, and fried sweet potato / shrimp. I also ordered to go a grilled chicken Bahn Mi sandwich with a fried egg. They have parking in the back and side area. Cons: Some concerns are minor and major. The restaurant logo sign is hard to read if you were to drive by it. The lighting inside is a bit dark which makes it feel like your in a bar. The seating level attached to the walls are a bit higher which makes the table feel lower. The chairs were better to sit on. After ordering the food, they never removed the menus until I handed it to them 7-10 min later. Didnt provide all the utensils and napkins until I asked for it. It took longer for the food to come out compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. After finishing up the food, I ordered a Bahn Mi sandwich to go and that took like 15-20 min. The person who took my order to go wasn't around so I asked another worker about it. She saw I wasn't happy and said she would find out whats going on. Went to the kitchen area in the back and found it was ready to go. It seemed like someone forgot about it and left it there without telling anyone about it. Its a sandwich and it shouldn't take long to make especially when it wasn't too busy at the time. Overall, the food is good but they need to work on service. Maybe I came in the wrong day or the workers are just new but I hope to expect the service will get better.

I have to give 5 stars because of the following: Awesomely late hours!! Very engaged owners!! Delicious Food!! We ordered an appetizer (Wings), two entrees (Banh Mi w/ beef plus added fried egg, and Shaken Beef ) and tried the alcoholic iced coffee shots which were amazingly great if you like coffee at all. I actually hate most liquor and enjoyed my shot and had a second happily! Tip: according to the Yelp pics, they have so-called secret items that are available almost all the time, except Weds. I'll break it down: Tamarind Wings: These were everything I was hoping they'd be in an asian style fried "hot wing" kind of a thing. The skin was crispy, the wing was on the leaner side. The sauce was delicious and the tangy/sweetness was well balanced. We'd get these again any time! Banh Mi: I found my beef to be on the INSANELY fatty side but I'm really particular those things and while not totally new to Vietnamese, new-ish to Bahn Mi's with meat. Maybe that's "the way it should be"?? In any case I easily opened my sandwich and re-arranged it to suit myself with no weird looks or questions, always a plus. The bread, toppings and the egg I asked for was perfect. Fresh, well arranged and yummy! I requested fish sauce on the side and I was sandwich heaven. I found the quality of the bread to be outstanding. But it brings me to the other thing we had... Shaken Beef: My boyfriend ordered this and it came with rice and broth. I kept sneaking bites off his plate and sipping at his broth. YUM. I assume the pho is made in this broth and that bodes well. Not the BEST broth for pho that I've ever had but a really really delicious broth never the less. The beef on this dish wasn't super fatty at all. It was pretty lean and very well cooked. The sauce was salty, savory and not too soy-y tasting. Iced Coffee Shots: These were a gift and they were delicious! I don't even drink, as mentioned above and I loved it. The ambiance of the place was pleasant, pretty modern, clean and enjoyable to hang out in. We came at an odd hour and everything still tasted fresh and nice.

Delicious meatball and steak pho and crispy pork spring rolls! It's always our quick pho fix stop If I'm too lazy to make my own. The location on Independence Avenue is great too but I love that this one is open late.

Went here for St. Patty's Day to see an intimate Making Movies show. I know, I know, who goes to a Vietnamese place to watch a Latino American alternative rock band when 2 blocks over in Westport, everyone is getting hammered in green? Well, this guy does! And the night was perfect! Great food (I had the tofu and vegetable pho) and great music. I'll have to come back and try out their karaoke after my next dinner there!

The food was amazing and the staff were equally as awesome. This was my first time here and we were disappointed they were totally out of pork (over half the table had ordered pork). However, what we got did not disappoint and every one of us said we'd for sure be coming back and loved our meals. It was so good we didn't even care that we didn't have pork! The staff threw in an appetizer to make up for the issue which was really nice of them. Liked the chill vibe and can't wait to go back. The pho expert at the table said it was way better than the other spot in town he's been to so far, and one of the best he's had, including the LA eats.

Food was great! Pho was on point, banh mi was delicious and the crawfish was one of best I have ever had! Karaoke til 2 am?! Makes for a fun and hilarious bachelorette outting. The owner was super nice and the staff were attentive. We loved it so much we went back on Sunday for lunch.

Overpriced and unimpressive. Had the summer rolls, pho, and vermicelli. Very blah. Entrees are $10-$20. Some entrees are $20+ which is outrageous considering the simplicity of the ingredients. I recommend Vietnam Cafe

Great for late night food and drinks. Spike (the owner) is as generous as his banh mi is delicious! A great spot in midtown that I will be bringing friends back to again and again!

I have been twice. The first time was with two of my girlfriends for dinner. I had the rice plate and they both had Pho. The food was overpriced for how mediocre it was. The service was terrible. We waited about 20 minutes before we got waters, then another 30 minutes before we got our food. The servers never came to check on us. I then came back a few days later because a friend was hosting a party there. It was a huge party with 50+ people. They were not equipped to deal with this. It took at least 45 minutes before they took our order, another 45 minutes to get our food (I ordered a vietnamese sandwich, which should only take about 5 minutes to make). My sandwich came with literally two pieces of meat and it costed $6. A lot of orders were forgotten. We had to remind our servers about which orders were placed multiple times. Needless to say, I will not be back.

"Food, good. Ambience? Not so much... at least not for the price"... Food was good, service was ok, but if I were to advertise my place as an upscale French-Viet Fusion Restaurant... It would have been better designed and decorated and cleaner. The place had a "dingy" type of feeling and was very over-priced. Granted the food was good, but you can get just as good or better at the Vietnam Cafe down by the Dom Bosco area, and not have to get a second mortgage... I won't be returning. Took my wife and son for Mother's Day, we ordered 2 appetizers and 3 entrees with 1 beer and 2 sodas and it came to $73!! I'm not rich so I won't be giving them any more business.

I had some of the best pho I have had in Kansas City here tonight. The broth was delicious - I didn't leave any of it behind! I definitely want to come back and try the spring rolls some time - I saw many of them on other nearby tables. I highly recommend checking this place out!

I've been here a lot since grand opening, and I can tell you that this place is amazing!! They're all about the customer satisfaction. Food is awesome also, I loved the ribeye.. It was cooked perfectly. I'm planning to have my engagement party hosted here, because of the awesome service. This environment is suited for everyone, family, parties, dates, special occasions. Spike (the owner) is the best when it comes to customer service! Try it out!

Loved everything about this place from the decor, to the owner who gave me a free beer while waiting for a carryout orderto the great tasting food. The Pho is amazing as well as the Banh Mi. Our first experience was so great we came back for 4th meal at midnight. I think its awesome that they serve so late, I think this place will be my new late night panchos kind of place because the food is a great. I can't wait to go back.

Spike from Pho Hoa in the Northeast has opened Iphotower in Midtown. It's a wonderful fusion of Vietnamese and French cuisine. The atmosphere is full of blue light and is fun just to sit and have a drink or sip a Vietnamese coffee. Their Pho is the best in town.

I usually go to Pho Hoa Noodle on the East side, but it was closed for renovations. So I found this place via Google. I was greeted at the door and I liked the setup of the restaurant. I liked being able to see the cook in the kitchen making my dish. I ordered a dish similar to what I would order at Pho Hoa Noodle, but it was not even a close 2nd. It was very mediocre and the broth wasn't seasoned. I would not go there for their noodle soup dish again. However, I will go there again since I would like to try their crawfish and some other dishes on their menu. A nice place... but Pho Hoa is far better! :)

Wonderful dining experience! The food was delightful. The flavors are refreshing and playful. The grilled pork roll and pork "beignets" are stand-outs on the appetizer list. We tried some of the French fusion items - the chopped steak (perfectly cooked and seasoned) and Vietnamese crepes. The crepes were crunchier than I expected, but it was a really fun and flavorful dish. The fish sauce that accompanies it and other items is so good! The wine, beer and cocktail selection is better than I have experienced at other local Asian restaurants. The sangria comes with a lychee which made me very happy. I would love to see a lychee martini on their menu in the future... The service was outstanding as well. The staff and owners were helpful and attentive and made us right at home. We had a really great time. I highly recommend iPho Tower!!!

My family and I were visiting Kansas City and craving some authentic pho. We originally tried to go to another restaurant, but they were closed. We stumbled upon iPho Tower and I am SO glad we did. We ordered the spring rolls for our appetizer and they were delicious! My dad and I ordered the steak pho, while my sister ordered the vegetarian pho and my mom ordered a grilled pork bahn mi. The beef broth was so flavorful and there was an abundance of meat and noodles. My sister's bowl came with an assortment of vegetables with tofu. The bahn mi was also on a special type of artisan bread that made for a very delicious, but relatively cheap, meal! Spike, the owner of the restaurant, actually came and talked to us for a while. They have two locations now and the restaurant turns into lounge at night. They known for their authentic cooking and late hours! Overall, we had a great experience at iPho Tower. Service was great and food was excellent!!

Great addition to KC! The Pho broth was perfectly seasoned, it takes about 36 hours to make and you can certainly tell. Besides Pho, we ordered the ipho Baguette sandwich which was pretty good too. I will definitely come back again. Atmosphere was pleasant, went on a Friday night and they had a Dj playing, I thought that was pretty cool. Overall very happy to have a new place to get my pho soup! Also, the name is GENIUS!

iPho Tower is the newest restaurant addition to Midtown, and I'm glad it is! From delicious dishes to fantastic service, my experience here has been wonderful, and I will for sure be back. The atmosphere is, in a word, "neon." There are purple LED lights on the ceiling, fancy neon lights with the iPho Tower logo, and various different strobe and projection lights. It has a very hip, club like feel to it. I went at about 9 on a Friday and they had dance music playing in the background, but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. The seating layout is very "New York" style, with booth style seating lining both walls, which puts you pretty close to other diners, but there was enough space to feel comfortable and not cramped. As you probably have gathered by the name, the restaurant is a French-Vietnamese fusion, which means they offer some fun and tasty food. Who would of thought of having pho and crepes in the same meal? I ordered the seafood pho, which has a variety of different proteins in it, and it was great. The broth was seasoned well, and they offer sriracha along with other additions you can add to make it exactly how you want it. I also had the pork spring rolls as an appetizer, and they were fantastic! The pork was seasoned wonderfully, and was probably one of the best spring rolls I've had. And the best part is, everything is priced very cheap! A large amount of the entrees are 10 dollars or less. Service was on point as well. This might be due to the fact that they are a new restaurant and want to make a good impression, but if that's what they were going for, they definitely succeeded. The manager personally came to my table to make sure everything was ok, and the server was very attentive and polite. All in all, iPho Tower is a welcome addition to the Midtown dining scene, and I will for sure be back to try more of their menu options.

Ventured in for an early dinner so as not to have to deal with a huge crowd. This is a neighborhood place that has been on my radar for some time, The service was fast and friendly, although I didn't think it was appropriate for the server to slam the Pho at Vietnam cafe while offering menu suggestions ("ours is fresher and better") without being asked for a comparison. We settled on the pork rolls and steak Pho. A little concerning was the server then went into the kitchen and began preparing the pork rolls......ungloved.....as we watched her pull noodles from the viewable window. This is the same server who also assisted the only other table in tabbing out. I'm sure she washed her hands, right? The food was good, but I was surprised at the size of the pork rolls.....sandwich wrap size. The Pho was good, but had not had the fat skimmed from the broth so each spoon left a little slick on the lips. I report 3 stars as this is a place I will return to ....when business is fast enough to keep the server out of the kitchen...to try the banh mi. P.S. There's a reason the comparison to Vietnam cafe was made....it is, and shall remain, the gold standard for pho in KC.

Good prices for an extensive menu. Delicious, fresh taste. Ample parking and never a long wait. Only drawback was the sticky floor and the nightclub feel even during the day...but maybe that's what they're going for?

I was just there last night. They were getting ready to clean up and close, but accommodated our late night hunger. Its hard sometimes to find a late night place to eat that isn't some fast food joint, and this place is not that. The food is great, the decor is fantastic, and the staff are so friendly and nice. This is not the first time I've been here, it will definitely not be my last. My husband, my two boys and I have been there practically every weekend since it opened and before that with their soft opening, and even for a friend's birthday party there. My children love their fried pork buns and we love the crawfish (especially during Fridays during lent) and their banh mi. I am Vietnamese, and love finding a nice place that has that authentic taste (when I myself don't feel like cooking), but also throws a spin on favorites with a French twist. The saying goes, if you walk into a restaurant and see people of that ethnicity chomping down the food, you know its good. I also like that there are times you sing karaoke (though I have not found courage to do so) and weekend nights there is a dj playing upbeat music that helps lighten the mood after a hard work week. You will be seeing me back this weekend and the next (another friend's birthday party). Its just a nice place to eat with your friends and family, let alone throw an event there. Thumbs up to this place, after only being open for a month, I've become a regular it seems!

amazing authentic Pho! they simmer their broth for 36 hours, it is absolutely delicious. to add to the great food they have a bar, entertainment and are open really late. they have killer Bahn Mi to! we will certainly come here every time we are in KC!

  • Jeremy C.

This is some damn good Vietnamese food. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the deco. A little too much going on for my taste. Also, during our dinner, they had CNN's Blackfish documentary on the big screens. Not exactly the best thing to watch when eating at a restaurant. But the food is excellent. HIGHLY recommend the Fried BBQ Pork Buns. The House Special Bahn Mi is really good and the baguette that they use is perfect. The tamarind wings are just OK (a little too much fish sauce). I will definitely be coming back here a lot.

Wow. Really surprised when I came here to eat. I'm from out of town, and went to a couple bars. Eventually of course our friends got hungry and we ran into iphotower. I love Vietnamese food, and I am Vietnamese. This place has AUTHENTIC Vietnamese food. I was craving a bowl of pho but I was definitely in for more. It was a fusion of Vietnamese and French. You definitely need to try the chicken or beef salad. I ordered both. I would not recommend any other place in Kansas.
